Our Multi-Sensory Room is an interactive, immersive setting with a wide range of sensory toys, equipment and activities. This includes light boards, a sensory swing, displays of different textures and colours and light projectors.
Studies show that sensory play benefits all children and supports their social development and communication skills. The sensory room allows children to explore freely and use the equipment in the way that they choose!
Parents are welcome to stay and play with their child, we recommend staying for at least the first session. We also recommend attending on a weekly basis in order to get the most benefit for your child.
We are also happy to discuss any individual needs your child may have and adapt the room accordingly.
We focus on stimulating and nurturing all 7 senses, that’s right! Contrary to popular belief, there are not just the basic 5 senses that you’ve probably heard of –

2. Sound
3. Smell
4. Taste
5. Touch
6. Proprioception
7. Vestibular
Proprioception, otherwise known as kinesthesia, is your body’s ability to sense movement, action and location. It’s present in every muscle movement you have and without it, you wouldn’t be able to move your body without thinking about your next steps.
The vestibular sense, also known as the gravity/balance sense, allows us to move smoothly and maintain our balance while engaged in activities such as walking and running.
Sensory play can benefit children of all ages, which is why we also run a session for babies up to aged 3.
This is an activity that parents and babies can do together, babies are free to explore the environment which is carefully set up with age appropriate equipment which is safe for them.
Parents can also support and guide their children through the room. Multi-sensory play can help with speech and language development as well as their awareness of their surroundings.
It is also an opportunity for parents to meet and support each other, as well as providing some respite from the pressures of having a young baby.
